Sean “Diddy” Combs has renewed his request for bail, claiming that conditions at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn are “inhumane.” In a letter to Judge Arun Subramanian, Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, alleged that the 55-year-old is being served “expired” and “infested with maggots” food, and cited frequent lockdowns and poor treatment at the facility. Agnifilo submitted a photo of the food as evidence and argued that these “exceptional circumstances” warrant his client’s release before his sentencing.
Pushback on Bail and a Possible Pardon
Combs, who was convicted in July on two counts of transporting individuals for prostitution, faces a potential prison sentence of up to 20 years. Judge Subramanian has previously denied Combs’ bail requests, stating that he has shown no “exceptional circumstance” that would justify his release. The judge also cited evidence of “violence, coercion, or subjugation” in connection with the crimes, a point that Agnifilo has challenged, claiming that Combs is being punished in a “more draconian manner than anyone in U.S. history.”
Combs’ legal team is pushing for a re-evaluation of the bail decision, arguing that he is not a flight risk and has shown respect for the justice system. Agnifilo also stated that the music mogul’s time in jail has been “difficult,” with the food being the “roughest” part of his stay. Combs, he said, is spending his time reflecting and hopes to be released so he can reconnect with his children.
Meanwhile, there is speculation about a potential presidential pardon from Donald Trump, but White House officials have declined to comment on the matter.
