Scott Rudin Returns To Broadway With ‘Little Bear Ridge Road’ Starring Laurie Metcalf

Los Angeles [US], July 8: Controversial producer Scott Rudin is set to return to Broadway this fall with Little Bear Ridge Road, a new play by Samuel D. Hunter. The production will feature acclaimed actors Laurie Metcalf and Micah Stock, reprising their roles from the play’s world premiere at Chicago’s Steppenwolf Theatre Company.

Directed by Tony Award-winner Joe Mantello, the play is slated for a limited 18-week run at Broadway’s Booth Theatre. Previews begin Tuesday, October 7, with an official opening night scheduled for Thursday, October 30, as reported by Deadline.

The announcement marks Rudin’s first Broadway project since stepping back in 2021 amid widespread allegations of workplace bullying. In a recent New York Times interview, Rudin acknowledged his past behavior, calling it “bone-headed” and “narcissistic,” and revealed that he has undergone significant therapy.

Little Bear Ridge Road continues the longstanding creative partnership between Mantello and Metcalf—this being their seventh collaboration. Metcalf, a two-time Tony Award winner, returns to Broadway for the seventh time in the past decade.

Joining Metcalf and Stock from the original Steppenwolf production are John Drea and Meighan Gerachis, completing the cast of the Broadway run.
