Scindia Seeks ₹250 Crore For Development Projects In Gwalior-Chambal Region

New Delhi [India]: To boost development in the districts of Gwalior, Guna, Ashoknagar, and Shivpuri, Union Minister for Communications and Development of the Northeastern Region, Jyotiraditya Scindia, held a strategic meeting with Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar at Shram Shakti Bhawan in New Delhi on Saturday.

During the meeting, Scindia proposed development projects amounting ₹250 crore for the four districts. According to an official release, the two ministers also reviewed key issues related to development in Northeast India.

Scindia stressed the urgent need to address the persistent waterlogging issue in Gwalior. He proposed the construction of a drainage system and a new sewer line, with an estimated cost of ₹60 crore.

Turning to Shivpuri, Scindia requested funding to accelerate delayed projects under the AMRUT-2 scheme. He also highlighted the necessity of constructing AMRUT Park, renovating Bhujariya Talab, conserving Jadhav Sagar, and upgrading the city’s sanitation infrastructure.

For Guna’s urban improvement, Scindia submitted proposals for the development of a 5-hectare Oxygen Park, a state-of-the-art bus terminal, and the beautification of Madhavrao Scindia Road as a themed corridor. He sought around ₹80 crore for these initiatives.

Reaffirming his commitment to his parliamentary constituency, Scindia also discussed plans to renovate and enhance Tulsi Sarovar in Ashoknagar. He proposed the transformation of the road connecting Guna Tiraaha to Tridev Mandir into a themed stretch.

Additionally, Scindia extended an invitation to Minister Khattar for the upcoming North East Rising Investor Summit 2025, set to be held in May. He expressed optimism about the summit, stating that it would “open new avenues for investment and development in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed Northeast.”
