New Delhi [India]: A Supreme Court lawyer has filed a complaint with Delhi’s Cyber Police against YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, stand-up comedian Samay Raina, and others for allegedly making “vulgar references to close family relationships” on a reality show.

The complaint also calls for a ban on the show ‘India’s Got Latent’, citing its “obscene and offensive content.” A formal request has been submitted to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to take action against the show.

Allegations Against the Accused

The complaint, filed by Advocate Vineet Jindal, invokes Sections 296 and 34 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), alleging that the accused disrespected family structures in an obscene manner and used abusive language on a public platform.

Jindal further stated that such content creators are “distorting our culture and social structure, and they must be punished.”

The complaint accuses Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, and others of transmitting and disseminating obscene, vulgar, and offensive content on digital platforms.

According to the complaint, a video circulating on social media shows individuals using “derogatory language” to describe family relationships and making “unacceptable vulgar references” to close family ties.
