The horror-comedy franchise is back with Diljit Dosanjh leading a star-studded cast, promising thrills, laughs, and supernatural chaos ahead of its June 27 theatrical release.
Mumbai, June 16:
Punjabi cinema’s most beloved ghostbuster is back! The teaser for ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ has dropped, revealing Diljit Dosanjh’s return as the eccentric and fearless ghost hunter, now facing his most mysterious and powerful spirit yet—this time in a haunted mansion in the United Kingdom.
The teaser, released Sunday, confirms the third installment of the hit horror-comedy franchise, which first began in 2015, and is set to release on June 27. Packed with paranormal action, comedic chaos, and Diljit’s signature charm, ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ is directed by Amar Hundal and stars Neeru Bajwa, Manav Vij, Gulshan Grover, Jasmin Bajwa, and Sapna Pabbi, among others.
Teaser Breakdown: Ghosts, Guns & Gags
The teaser kicks off with a high-stakes moment—a team of armed soldiers entering a notoriously haunted UK castle, only to be swiftly overpowered by an unseen and seemingly invincible spirit. With no hope left, the castle’s owners turn to one man who has faced the supernatural and lived to laugh about it: Sardaar Ji, played by Diljit Dosanjh.
The teaser then shifts to Dosanjh’s hilarious domestic setup, where his in-house witches casually demand medical kits, makeup boxes, and even magic charms as part of their ghost-hunting toolkit. The humour escalates when Dosanjh confronts the ghost in the mansion—triggered not by terror, but by the spirit’s refusal to say “Sardaar Ji” with proper respect!
A Beloved Franchise Returns
‘Sardaar Ji’ has earned its place as a cult favourite in the Punjabi film industry, blending horror and comedy in a way that resonates widely with audiences. The original ‘Sardaar Ji’ (2015), directed by Rohit Jugraj, starred Mandy Takhar and Neeru Bajwa, and broke box office records with one of the strongest openings in Punjabi cinema history.
The second installment, ‘Sardaar Ji 2’ (2016), also directed by Jugraj, took the franchise into fantasy territory and cemented Diljit’s comedic action-hero credentials.
Now, ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ promises to up the ante with bigger set pieces, international locations, and a more powerful ghostly adversary, all while keeping the spirit of the franchise intact.
Cast and Director Speak Through Action
While the cast hasn’t revealed much in interviews yet, Diljit Dosanjh took to Instagram to share the teaser with fans, writing:
“Jithe Sardaar Ji, othe hovegi comedy di guarantee!”
Director Amar Hundal, known for his work in action-packed Punjabi films, brings a fresh energy to the franchise, likely contributing to the teaser’s high-octane visual style and brisk pacing.
Release Date and What to Expect
‘Sardaar Ji 3’ hits cinemas on June 27, and fans can expect a wild ride filled with spooks, laughs, action, and trademark Punjabi swagger. With a supernatural showdown on foreign soil and Diljit’s unmatched comic timing, the third film looks set to attract fans of all ages.
