New Delhi (India), March 26: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut has accused the BJP of being involved in a political conspiracy aimed at defaming individuals in connection with the five-year-old case of Disha Salian. He stated that the conspiracy to damage reputations has been ongoing for years, claiming, “The BJP has no work; they don’t have anything else to do.”
Raut emphasized his faith in the judicial system, expressing confidence that the matter should be left to the courts. “If the matter is in court, let it stay there. We have full faith in the judicial system,” he added.
The opposition in Maharashtra has been consistently targeting the BJP, alleging that the party is involved in a conspiracy to malign the image of Aaditya Thackeray. NCP-SCP leader Rohit Pawar previously criticized the BJP, stating that the party would exploit Disha Salian’s death for political gain after her father requested a probe into her demise.
Earlier, Satish Salian, the father of the deceased, filed a written complaint with the Mumbai Police Commissioner, demanding an FIR against Aaditya Thackeray and others. The complaint accuses them of being involved in gang rape and murder in connection with Disha’s death.
Satish Salian’s lawyer, Nilesh Ojha, confirmed that the complaint had been accepted by the Joint Commissioner of Police. The accused individuals include Aaditya Thackeray, former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh, officer Sachin Vaze, and actor Aditya Pancholi.
Ojha further alleged that Aaditya Thackeray was the primary accused in the case, and accused Uddhav Thackeray of misusing power for a cover-up. He also claimed that Aaditya Thackeray’s connection to a drug cartel was part of the official records of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), which had been mentioned in the complaint.
Satish Salian had previously approached the Bombay High Court, urging an investigation into his daughter’s death and seeking the registration of an FIR against Aaditya Thackeray and others involved.
Disha Salian was found dead on June 8, 2020, just days before Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found deceased at his Bandra flat.
This development follows the reported submission of a closure report by the CBI regarding the 2020 death of Sushant Singh Rajput. Sources revealed that the closure report was filed in a Mumbai court almost five years after the actor’s death. Sushant, 34, was found dead at his residence on June 14, 2020. His postmortem report listed asphyxia as the cause of death.
