Shillong (Meghalaya) [India]: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Wednesday launched the CM Impact Meghalaya Class Readiness Program e-books, a transformative initiative aimed at bridging learning gaps across grades to enhance student success.
The event was attended by Chief Secretary DP Wahlang, Commissioner & Secretary of Education Vijay Mantri, and MIDC Chairman James K. Sangma.
Focus on Education Reform in Meghalaya
Speaking at the launch, CM Conrad Sangma emphasized that the government has been working tirelessly to improve the education sector despite challenges related to teachers, infrastructure, and different school categories.

- Enhancing pass percentages in secondary school examinations
- Addressing foundational learning gaps at primary and upper primary levels
- Ensuring a systematic change in teaching and classroom learning
Program Highlights
The CM Impact Meghalaya Class Readiness Program is designed to empower students, strengthen the educational system, and create a smoother transition between grades.

✔️ Covers Classes 1 to 10
✔️ Bridges learning gaps and builds strong foundational literacy
✔️ Experiential learning methods for interactive education
✔️ A four-week intervention for all teachers across Meghalaya
✔️ Based on NCERT’s ‘Vidya Pravesh’ module to ensure school readiness
Training for Teachers
- Directorate of School Education and Literacy (DSEL) Director Swapnil Tembe stated that all teachers from Class 1 to 10 will implement the program for the first month of the academic session.
- The Directorate will also conduct webinars to train teachers on effective implementation.
