Homelander’s Chilling Promise Unveiled: San Diego Comic-Con Gets Bloody First Look At The Boys Season 5

San Diego, California, USA- Fans at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) got a “bloody good surprise” when Prime Video showed them the first look at The Boys Season 5, the last season of Eric Kripke’s brutally funny superhero story. The sizzle trailer, which was shown to a full Hall H, didn’t hold back and gave everyone a taste of the turmoil and dark humor to come.

Homelander (Antony Starr), who is now a well-known national personality, had a particularly scary moment in the teaser. He ominously promises a “safer, God-fearing nation” to a throng, a statement that hints at the increasing authoritarianism and control he would have over the country at the end of the series.

In a surprise that made Supernatural fans happy, Jared Padalecki made a quick appearance, reuniting on screen with his former co-star Jensen Ackles (aka Soldier Boy) for the first time in years. Misha Collins is also set to participate this season, which makes the Supernatural reunion organized by producer Eric Kripke even more real. His face didn’t make it into this first look.

The teaser ended with a close-up of Colby Minifie’s Ashley Barrett, which was both mysterious and scary. At first, her smile slowly turns into a smirk, then it changes into a look that is clearly frightening, causing spectators to wonder what would happen to her in the last season.

The Boys Season 5 production is officially over, as the cast and creator say goodbye with tears in their eyes.
The Boys Season 5 finally finished filming on July 2nd. Eric Kripke, the brilliant mind behind the program, spoke on Instagram about how sad and happy he was to end the show. “This is the last time I’ll ever be on this set.” Soon, it will be torn down. Kripke remarked, “It’s bittersweet, but my main feeling is thankfulness.”

He was very grateful to his team: “We have the best cast, the best crew, the most fun story to write, and something that is impossible to predict: the right timing.” If you’re lucky, you might get two of those items throughout your whole career. We got all of them. To the #TheBoys family: I love you all and thank you. Thanks for watching, folks. I can’t wait for you to see the big finish. That’s it.

Erin Moriarty, who plays Starlight in the show, also posted a sad goodbye note on her social media. “The tears have started…” I bid goodbye to most of my work family today, and when I’m ready to grin about it, I’ll be ready to smile about it. “To my Boys fam: love you, c*nts. forever,” she wrote, showing how close the cast and crew became over the show’s run.

TVLine had already heard from Kripke that the show was always meant to be a “five-season story,” which means that the ending would be structured and have an impact. Years in advance, this strategic choice was made, which shows how well the story arc was planned to lead up to this big ending.

Release Window and Gen V Spinoff to Fill the Gap
There hasn’t been an official release date for The Boys Season 5 yet, but most people think it will come out in 2026.

The college-based spinoff show Gen V will return with its much-anticipated Season 2 on September 17, 2025, to help viewers get through the wait. This opportune comeback of the spin-off is expected to fill the gap and keep fans interested in The Boys’ world until the main series makes its final big debut.
