Sambhal Violence: 27 Arrested, 7 FIRs Filed Over ASI Survey Of Mughal-Era Mosque

The aftermath of the Sambhal violence over an Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) survey at a Mughal-era mosque has resulted in 27 arrests, with seven FIRs filed against those involved in the incident. The unrest, which included stone pelting and a ruckus, has drawn significant attention as authorities work to restore peace.

1. Arrests and FIRs:
   • Moradabad Divisional Commissioner Aunjaneya Kumar Singh confirmed the arrests and stated that 22 individuals have been named in the FIRs.
   • “So far, 74 individuals have been identified, and efforts to identify others are ongoing,” Singh said, emphasizing the priority to normalize the situation.
2. Investigation and Cooperation:
   • Singh highlighted that people from all sections of society are cooperating with the investigation and urged them to avoid making baseless statements.

3. Allegations Against Political Figures:
