Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], March 14: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has received another death threat, prompting swift action from the Mumbai Police. The threat was sent via WhatsApp to the Transport Department in Worli, warning of plans to either invade his residence or detonate a bomb in his car, police officials confirmed on Sunday.
According to the authorities, the anonymous message stated that the sender intended to “barge into his house” and “blow up Salman Khan’s car” with explosives.
“Mumbai Police have registered a case against the unknown individual at Worli Police Station and are investigating the origin of the message,” an official said.
This is not the first time the actor has received such threats. In November last year, a threatening message allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang surfaced, giving the actor two chilling options: apologize or pay Rs 5 crore to avoid being killed.
The message, sent to the Mumbai Police traffic control room, stated:
“If Salman Khan wants to stay alive, he should go to our temple and apologize or pay Rs 5 crore. If he does not, we will kill him. Our gang is still active,” said the message, reportedly in the name of Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother.
Just days earlier, Salman had received another threat demanding a Rs 2 crore ransom, making this a recurring security concern for the Bollywood icon.
Mumbai Police continue to enhance security around the actor and are working with cybercrime and intelligence units to track down the source of the threats.
