Mumbai (Maharashtra), April 14: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has received a fresh death threat, prompting the Mumbai Police to register a case and begin investigations. The threat was reportedly sent on Sunday to the Worli Transport Department’s WhatsApp number, warning of violent action against the actor, including a plan to blow up his car.
DCP Zone 3, Datta Kamble, confirmed the development, stating, “A threat message was received for Salman Khan on the Worli Transport Department’s WhatsApp number yesterday. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway.”
According to the police, the anonymous message threatened to “barge into Salman Khan’s house” and “blow up his car with a bomb.” Following the message, a case was registered at the Worli Police Station under sections 351(2) and 351(3) of the Bhartiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
This is not the first time Salman Khan has been targeted with such threats. In November last year, Mumbai Police received threatening messages allegedly from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The message demanded the actor either apologize or pay a ransom of Rs 5 crore to avoid being killed.
A similar threat had emerged earlier, also from the same gang, demanding Rs 2 crore. These incidents have raised serious concerns about the actor’s security, which has since been tightened.
Salman Khan, who was recently seen in the film Sikandar directed by AR Murugadoss, continues to remain under heightened security following these recurring threats.
