Mumbai– Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, famously referred to as India’s most eligible bachelor, once again addressed the constant buzz around his marital status—this time, with his trademark humour and candid honesty.
During his recent appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Show, Salman, now 59, was teased by Kapil Sharma and Archana Puran Singh about his refusal to tie the knot. Responding with a blend of wit and sarcasm, he questioned the public’s obsession with his personal choices.
“Main humesha kehta hu ki mere shaadi kar lene mein aapka kya faeda hai? Kya aapko maza aa raha hai ki main aapke liye suhagrat mana raha hu? Mai kya kar raha hu jisme aapko itni khushi horahi hai ki main barbad hojau?”
(“I always ask—how does it benefit you if I get married? Are you enjoying the fact that I’m spending my wedding night for you? Why are you so happy watching me suffer?”)
On Modern Relationships: ‘No Patience Anymore’
Salman also offered a thoughtful—if humorous—take on contemporary relationships, stating that couples today separate over trivial matters.
“People break up over snoring or sleeping positions. There’s no patience, no sacrifice,” he said. “And after divorce, they take half your wealth too!”
He added that at his age, starting life over after a failed marriage wouldn’t be feasible.
