Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 1: As Ramadan concluded, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s sister, Arpita Khan, hosted a grand Eid celebration on Monday night, bringing together some of the biggest names in the industry.
The star-studded event blended glamour with warmth, featuring celebrities such as Sonakshi Sinha, Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, Jackie Shroff, Genelia Deshmukh, Sonali Bendre, and Lulia Vantur. Family members, including Arbaaz Khan, Alvira Khan, and Aayush Sharma, also graced the occasion, making it a true Khan family affair. The evening was filled with friendly exchanges and dazzling appearances, capturing the essence of Bollywood’s Eid traditions.
Salman’s Eid Greetings to Fans
Earlier in the day, Salman greeted thousands of fans from his Galaxy Apartments residence. Dressed in a classic white kurta-pyjama, he waved to his devoted supporters from behind bulletproof glass due to heightened security measures. The massive crowd erupted in cheers, chanting his name and calling him “Sikandar.”
The actor later took to Instagram to thank his fans, writing, “Shukriya Thank you aur sab ko Eid Mubarak.”
‘Sikandar’ Box Office Performance & Piracy Setback
Coinciding with the festivities, Salman’s latest film Sikandar was released globally, earning ₹54.72 crore on its opening day. However, despite the impressive numbers, trade analyst Taran Adarsh pointed out that the film’s performance was below expectations.
“Given post-pandemic trends for highly anticipated films, an opening day of ₹40 crore+ was expected from Salman Khan this time… However, despite releasing on a Sunday, similar to Tiger 3 [Diwali 2023], Sikandar does not feature in Salman Khan’s Top 5 opening days list,” Adarsh noted.
One major challenge the film faced was piracy. Film trade expert Komal Nahta revealed that Sikandar had been leaked online across more than 600 websites before its theatrical release. Although the production team took swift action to remove the illegal copies, the leak had already impacted the film’s initial business.
In response, producer Sajid Nadiadwala’s team confirmed that they were actively combating piracy, though they did not officially comment on the extent of the leak.
Star-Studded Cast & Direction
Directed by AR Murugadoss, Sikandar boasts a powerful ensemble cast featuring Rashmika Mandanna, Sharman Joshi, Kajal Aggarwal, and Sathyaraj. Despite the challenges, fans remain eager to see Salman in his latest action-packed role.
