August 8, 2025: The new JioHostar online series Salakaar, helmed by Faruk Kabir, got an excellent review and 3.5 out of 5 stars from Times Now/Zoom. The five-part spy thriller is earning outstanding reviews for its fast-paced and fascinating tale, which mixes a nuclear threat from Pakistan in 1978 with a political crisis in 2025.

All of the actors are great, but Naveen Kasturia and Surya Sharma are the best. A lot of people think Kasturia is a superb young spy master, both in how he talks and how he handles action scenes. People also admire how Sharma looks, how he dances, and how he sounds like a general in the Pakistani army. The review claims that Mouni Roy’s acting is “okay,” but it also notes that she has difficulties with scenes that are very emotional.

Salakaar is also a triumph in terms of technology. Jitan Harmeet Singh’s cinematography does a great job at showing the action scenes. The review says that the script and direction are good, but it also points out certain issues, like Amar Mohile’s “not up to the mark” background music and some subplots that don’t get finished.
Salakaar is a terrific spy thriller overall since it has a great story and great acting.
