Aneet Padda, one of the breakout stars of Mohit Suri’s blockbuster return to direction, Saiyaara, recently shared the emotional details of her fangirl moment with Bollywood star Alia Bhatt. The film, which also launched Ahaan Panday, took the box office by storm, and Aneet’s performance immediately caught the attention of the industry’s biggest names, including her long-time idol.
In her first solo interview with Cosmopolitan India, Aneet called Alia Bhatt one of her idols and recalled the moment the veteran actress personally reached out to praise her.
The Special Phone Call
While Alia Bhatt had already publicly lauded Saiyaara and its lead cast on social media, Aneet revealed the moment became far more personal and special when she received a phone call from the actress.
Aneet shared that Alia “gushed” about the film for nearly ten minutes during their conversation.
Explaining why the praise was so meaningful, Aneet revealed her history of admiring Alia’s work: “I would talk to myself in the bathroom mirror (when I was young) and practise all of Bhatt’s monologues, thinking, ‘How can I do it?’ and then, ‘How can I do it my way?’” For Aneet, receiving such high praise from the actress whose monologues she once rehearsed was a full-circle realization of a dream.
Alia Bhatt’s Viral Social Media Praise
Prior to the personal call, Alia Bhatt had already posted a heartfelt message on social media, singling out Aneet and Ahaan for their stellar performances.
Praising the duo, Alia wrote, “It’s safe to say… two beautiful, magical STARS are born ✨✨✨✨ @aneetpadda_ @ahaanpandayy — I don’t remember the last time I looked at two actors with such awe. With stars in my eyes… watching the stars in yours. You both shine with such individuality, such honesty — I could watch you again, and again, and again.”
Alia also offered high praise to director Mohit Suri, calling him the “captain of this very wonderful ship.” She added, “Saiyaara is full of heart, full of soul, full of something that just stays with you… in the best way. To the entire team, to @yrf — congratulations on this beautiful creation. This isn’t just a film. It’s a moment.“
