Saif Ali Khan’s Team Confirms Actor Is Out Of Danger And Recovering After Attack

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], January 16: Following the attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, which left him injured, his team issued a statement confirming that the actor is now out of danger and is recovering.

“Saif Ali Khan has successfully undergone surgery and is out of danger. He is currently recovering, and doctors are closely monitoring his progress. All family members are safe, and the police are investigating the incident,” the statement read.

The statement also expressed gratitude to the medical team at Lilavati Hospital, thanking Dr. Niraj Uttamani, Dr. Nitin Dange, Dr. Leena Jain, and others for their care. “We also thank Saif’s fans and well-wishers for their prayers and support during this difficult time,” the team added.

Dixit Gedam, DCP Zone 9 of Mumbai Police, who is overseeing the investigation, said, “The investigation is ongoing, but I cannot disclose further details at this stage.”

The incident took place at Saif Ali Khan’s residence in the ‘Satguru Sharan’ building in Bandra, where an intruder allegedly confronted the actor’s maid. When Saif intervened to diffuse the situation, the confrontation turned physical, resulting in the actor sustaining injuries. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital for treatment.

Dr. Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital, confirmed that Saif was admitted to the hospital around 3 am on Thursday. The actor had suffered six stab wounds, two of which were deep, including one near his spine. A foreign object was also identified near his spine, according to hospital reports.

Reacting to the attack, Ashoke Pandit, president of the Indian Film and Television Directors Association (IFTDA), expressed concern. “The attack on Saif Ali Khan in his own home is alarming. We condemn this act. The security of the building is a matter of concern, as the intruder managed to reach the 12th floor and enter the house. This is a matter for the police to investigate, and I am confident that Mumbai Police will handle it effectively,” he said.
