Sai Sudharsan Highlights Hunger, Team Spirit & Bond With Shubman Gill As Key To Gujarat Titans’ Success

New Delhi [India], April 6: Gujarat Titans batterSai Sudharsan has emphasized that hunger, consistency, and a team-first mindset are the driving forces behind his performance in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. Despite his impressive form, the young left-hander insists that individual achievements are secondary to the team’s success.

Speaking to Boria Majumdar on Revsportz, Sudharsan stated,

“From a mental point of view, it’s about the hunger and dedication to help the team win. The previous game doesn’t matter—what matters is the next one, and how I can contribute to the team in any way.”

Sudharsan has been one of GT’s most reliable batters since joining in 2022. In IPL 2023, he scored 527 runs in 12 matches, and in the current 2025 season, he has already amassed 186 runs in just three innings, including two fifties. He is currently the second-highest run scorer, just behind Nicholas Pooran of the Lucknow Super Giants.

He also praised GT skipper Shubman Gill, calling him a natural leader with a deep understanding of player psychology.

“Shubman is a very good leader. The way he gives players space and time, yet also speaks straightforwardly when needed, makes him a great man-manager. He’s a fantastic leader now and will be even better in the future.”

Sudharsan also reflected on his strong on-field and off-field camaraderie with Gill. The duo frequently engage in tactical discussions, often talking about match scenarios, strategies, and bowler-specific plans—even during practice sessions.

“We often talk about game plans—what to do if a certain bowler comes in, how to adjust to situations. During matches, he shares small but impactful tips that really help. I’ve learned a lot from his batting and mindset.”

Gill, who led Gujarat Titans to their maiden IPL title in 2022 and a final appearance in 2023, has proven himself as both a prolific scorer and capable captain. Last season, he smashed 890 runs in 17 matches, including three centuries.

Looking ahead, the Titans will face Sunrisers Hyderabad in their next IPL fixture on Sunday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, where fans will once again witness the promising partnership between Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill in action.
