Sabrina Carpenter Announces New Album ‘Man’s Best Friend’, Set For August 29 Release

Washington DC [US], June 12: Pop star Sabrina Carpenter has officially announced her seventh studio album, Man’s Best Friend, set to release on August 29, according to Variety.

The Grammy-winning artist shared the news during an Instagram Live session, where she flipped through vinyl records by icons like Donna Summer, ABBA, and Dolly Parton—before unveiling her own. The teaser concluded with a first look at the album cover, featuring Carpenter on all fours while someone dressed in black slacks clutches a handful of her hair—a bold and provocative visual statement.

The album’s lead single, Manchild, dropped last week and quickly soared to No. 1 on both the Spotify U.S. and Global charts. The track was co-written by Carpenter along with longtime collaborators Jack Antonoff and Amy Allen. Its cinematic music video, directed by Vania Heymann and Gal Muggia, has also drawn significant attention.

Man’s Best Friend follows nearly a year after Carpenter’s hit album Short n’ Sweet, which featured viral tracks like EspressoPlease Please Please, and Taste—all of which have since joined Spotify’s coveted Billions Club.

According to VarietyShort n’ Sweet sold over 10 million copies worldwide and earned Carpenter six Grammy nominations, including wins for Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Solo Performance for Espresso.

With Man’s Best Friend, Carpenter looks set to continue her ascent as one of pop music’s most influential voices.
