August 10, 2025: Today, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh strongly criticized US tariffs and made a subtle but clear barb at US President Donald Trump. Singh gave a speech that was both confident and belligerent. He said that some powers can’t handle how quickly India is moving forward, but their attempts to stop it will ultimately fail.
Singh remarked, “Some people can’t accept India’s progress,” which was a clear reference to Trump’s protectionist policies. They are not handling it well. “Sabke boss toh hum hain” (I am everyone’s boss), how is India moving so quickly? People are now trying to make it more expensive to export Made-in-India goods to other countries.
Even with these problems, the senior politician’s message was clear. He said that India’s development as a world force cannot be stopped. “But I can promise you that no global power can stop us from becoming a superpower at the rate India is moving,” he said.
Singh’s comments show that trade relations are getting worse. His views directly question the US government’s economic policies and show that India wants to become a significant international power even more.
