EAM S. Jaishankar Meets Ambassadors Of Israel And Argentina; Receives Strong Support Against Pahalgam Terror Attack

New Delhi [India]: External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar met with the Ambassadors of Israel and Argentina in New Delhi on Friday, discussing key aspects of bilateral relations and receiving firm support from both nations in the aftermath of the heinous Pahalgam terror attack.

In a post on X, EAM Jaishankar shared details of the diplomatic engagements:

“A good discussion with Ambassador of Israel @ReuvenAzar in New Delhi today. Appreciated Israel’s steadfast support in combating cross-border terrorism.”

He further expressed appreciation for Argentina’s condemnation of the Pahalgam incident:

“Met Ambassador @CaucinoMariano of Argentina today. Welcome Argentina’s strong condemnation of Pahalgam terror attack. Spoke about advancing our bilateral and multilateral cooperation.”

Earlier in the day, envoys from Israel, the US, and Spain were seen at the Ministry of External Affairs in South Block. Speaking to the media, Israeli Ambassador Reuven Azar called the Pahalgam attack a “watershed moment”, reaffirming Israel’s solidarity with India.

On Thursday, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri briefed top diplomats from Germany, Japan, the UK, Russia, and others, providing a comprehensive account of the attack that claimed the lives of 26 civilians, including 25 Indians and one Nepali national.

The government has responded with major diplomatic and policy measures, including:

  • Suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty
  • Closure of the Attari Integrated Check Post
  • Suspension of the SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme for Pakistani nationals
  • Reduction of diplomatic presence in High Commissions on both sides

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has vowed a decisive response against those behind the attack, stating the perpetrators will face consequences “beyond their imagination” and asserting that the time has come to eliminate all remaining strongholds of terrorism.

These coordinated diplomatic actions mark a strong message from New Delhi — signaling zero tolerance for terrorism and widespread global support in India’s pursuit of justice.
