New Delhi [India], November 30: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has issued a statement calling for an immediate halt to the ongoing atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh. The organization strongly condemned the violent acts, including attacks, killings, looting, arson, and other inhumane treatments directed at Hindus and other minority communities by Islamic extremists, describing the situation as deeply concerning.
The RSS criticized the Bangladesh government and its authorities for their silence and failure to take action against the perpetrators of these attacks. The statement raised concerns over the increasing oppression and injustice faced by the Hindu community, particularly in light of peaceful protests led by Hindus to protect themselves. These protests, which are a democratic response to violence, have been met with severe repression.
One of the key issues highlighted by the RSS was the unjust imprisonment of ISKCON monk Chinmoy Krishna Das, who has been at the forefront of peaceful protests advocating for the rights of Hindus in Bangladesh. The RSS condemned his arrest, calling it a violation of justice and a direct attack on religious freedom.
In its statement, the RSS called on the Bangladesh government to immediately cease the violence against Hindus and to release Chinmoy Krishna Das from prison. It also urged the Indian government to continue its efforts to prevent the persecution of Hindus and minorities in Bangladesh and to garner global support for this cause. The RSS emphasized the need for India and the international community to stand in solidarity with the victims and to push for action that would help end these atrocities in the interest of global peace and brotherhood.
In response to the ongoing violence, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) expressed concern over the rise of extremist rhetoric and increasing incidents of violence against minorities in Bangladesh. During a media briefing on Friday, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that India has consistently raised the issue of targeted attacks on Hindus and other minorities with the Bangladesh government.
Jaiswal emphasized the need for Bangladesh’s interim government to take concrete steps to protect minorities, stating, “India has consistently and strongly raised with the Bangladesh government the threats and targeted attacks on Hindus and other minorities. We have made our position very clear as far as the situation of Hindus and minorities in Bangladesh is concerned. The interim government must live up to its responsibility of protecting all minorities.” He also expressed concern over the increasing violence and provocations, saying these developments could not be dismissed as mere media exaggerations.
The spokesperson also referred to ISKCON as a respected global organization known for its strong social service record and expressed hope that the legal processes surrounding the issue would be handled fairly, justly, and transparently.
