Mumbai: The long-awaited trailer for the romantic comedy Param Sundari, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, has finally been released. Fans are quite excited because they think the old rom-com genre is coming back to Bollywood. The movie will come out in theaters on August 29.
The trailer shows the main protagonists of the movie and their very different worlds after the popularity of its two songs, “Pardesiya” and “Bheegi Saree.” Sidharth Malhotra plays Param Sachdev, a “Dilli ka munda” (a lad from Delhi) who ends up in Kerala. There, he encounters Sundari, a dancer from the area played by Janhvi Kapoor. The teaser shows how well they get along and how they flirt with each other while making movie references in a beautiful church.
But as the trailer goes on, the joyful romance takes a turn. The two characters’ cultural differences cause problems between them, which leads to an emotional moment in which Sundari yells at Param and his friend, calling them “arrogant, entitled, and prejudiced North Indians.” Then she offers them a funny, fast-paced education on the top stars of South Indian cinema, identifying famous actors like Rajinikanth, Mohanlal, Allu Arjun, and Yash.

Tushar Jalota directed Param Sundari, and Dinesh Vijan produced it. Rajeev Khandelwal and Aakash Dahiya also have important roles in the movie. The movie will come out in theaters on August 29.
