Jaipur (Rajasthan), February 16: The FDCI India Men’s Fashion Weekend in Jaipur presented a captivating display as designers Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna unveiled their latest Spring-Summer 2025 menswear collection, Akoya. The show highlighted their remarkable journey in the fashion industry, particularly the evolution of men’s fashion in India.
Reflecting on their experience, Rohit and Rahul shared how men’s fashion has progressed over the years. “We were the first designers in the country to have a men’s show. Back then, men had no idea what to wear; their wives used to pick out their clothes. Now, men are knowledgeable and know exactly what they want. They are trendy and cool. Everything used to be about women, but now men deserve the spotlight,” Rohit commented.
The duo also noted how modern men are increasingly open to experimenting with their fashion choices. “Men are experimental now. They want to try something different. They no longer want to wear the usual sherwanis. This change marks growth in the market,” Rahul added.
The Akoya collection draws inspiration from Jaipur’s rich heritage and grandeur. Rahul explained, “With the wedding season and destination weddings happening in Jaipur, we wanted to create something contemporary yet connected to the city’s legacy.”
The collection features a sophisticated colour palette of mocha, ivory, and architectural neutrals, combining royal elegance with modern minimalism. Models strutted the runway wearing reimagined matador jackets, relaxed-fit trousers, and lightweight silk ensembles.
