Robert Vadra Questioned By ED In Gurugram Land Case; BJP Calls Him “Land Mafia”

New Delhi [India]: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Gaurav Bhatia on Tuesday referred to businessman Robert Vadra as a “land mafia” and asserted that the law applies equally to all, sending a strong message that no one is above it.

The remarks come following Robert Vadra’s questioning by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the Gurugram land case.

“Land mafia Robert Vadra was summoned for interrogation by the Enforcement Directorate. This is related to the land scam that happened in Haryana, when the Congress was in power, and it is known as the Shikohpur land scam, where within 24 hours, misusing the powers of the Chief Minister, a license was given to a company controlled and owned by Robert Vadra,” Bhatia told ANI.

He further added, “Today, when he was summoned for interrogation, it says a lot about the power of the rule of law and a strong message has been sent out that nobody is above the law of the country, especially not the fake Gandhi family, which is the most corrupt family in the world.”

Vadra, speaking to ANI during a break in the questioning, responded by saying he would not be intimidated by the current government or any investigative agency.

“I am not going to be intimidated by this government or any agency. I am going to answer all the questions,” he said.

He also mentioned that he had already provided tens of thousands of documents to the agency in 2019, reiterating that the summons were politically motivated.

“23,000 documents were submitted in 2019. The case that they are asking me about is a 20-year-old case. This is politically motivated. We abide by all the rules and regulations when we do any transaction. The ruling government always misuses the agency. They can ask me as many questions. I have nothing to hide. All is good,” Vadra stated.

According to official sources, this is the second time Vadra has been summoned in this case. His previous summons was on April 8.
