Rob Reiner Credits Jamie Lee Curtis For Encouraging Him To Join ‘The Bear’ Season 4

Washington [US], July 3: Veteran actor and director Rob Reiner revealed that his longtime friend Jamie Lee Curtis played a key role in convincing him to join the fourth season of FX on Hulu’s hit series The Bear, People magazine reported.

Reiner, 78, appears in three episodes of the new season as Albert Schnur. He praised series creator Christopher Storer for establishing “such a great mood” on set.

Reiner and Curtis share a warm friendship dating back to their time as onscreen ex-spouses Bob and Joan on the sitcom New Girl. They appeared together in multiple episodes, including the show’s finale.

Speaking to People, Reiner recalled how Curtis, who starred in previous seasons of The Bear, convinced him to accept the role. “She had told me she was on the seasons before, and then when I was asked to do it, I said, ‘I don’t know,’ and she said, ‘No, you’ve got to do it! It’s really fun!’” Reiner said.

A celebrated director known for classics like This Is Spinal Tap, Reiner shared his love for acting, describing it as a low-pressure experience. “It’s fun to act, and I love acting because it’s no worries. You just show up and do your work,” he added.

Curtis, who is married to Reiner’s Spinal Tap co-star Christopher Guest, won an Emmy in 2024 for her powerful performance as Donna Berzatto on The Bear. In her acceptance speech, Curtis highlighted the show’s exploration of healing and supporting others. (ANI)
