RJD’s Manoj Jha Says PM Modi’s Presence Would Have Elevated All-Party Meeting Amid Congress’s ‘Gayab’ Row

Patna (Bihar) [India]: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Manoj Jha on Tuesday responded to the Congress party’s controversial ‘Gayab’ (missing) post targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, suggesting that the Prime Minister’s attendance at the recent all-party meeting would have enhanced its dignity and impact.

Speaking to ANI, Jha said, “If PM Modi had attended the all-party meeting, the dignity of the meeting would have increased. Several things are happening across the globe in the geopolitical setup, and India’s vision is very clear. It should be conveyed under the leadership of the Prime Minister from all parties, which sometimes remains missing.”

The Congress party earlier posted an image on its official X (formerly Twitter) account showing an empty set of clothes symbolizing Prime Minister Modi’s absence, with the caption ‘Jimmedariyo ke samay – Gayab’ (At the time of responsibility – Vanished), sparking sharp political reactions.

Addressing demands from the Opposition for a special parliamentary session in response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, Jha stressed the importance of a unified national message.
“In history, times come for every nation when Parliament must send a message to nations across the world, and today is one such time. It is very important for our democracy,” he stated.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge had earlier written to Prime Minister Modi, urging the government to convene a special session of both Houses of Parliament to discuss the terror attack that claimed 26 lives.
In his letter, Kharge stated, “At this moment, when unity and solidarity are essential, the Opposition believes that it is important to convene a special session of both houses of Parliament at the earliest. This will be a powerful demonstration of our collective resolve and will to deal with the brutal terror attack.”

Echoing Kharge’s sentiments, Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi also urged the Prime Minister in a letter to hold a special session.
“The terrorist attack in Pahalgam has outraged every Indian. At this critical time, India must show that we will always stand together against terrorism,” Gandhi wrote, emphasizing that Parliament should express the nation’s unity and determination.

The call for a special session comes as political parties across the spectrum grapple with national security concerns and public mourning following the devastating terror incident.
