New Delhi [India], February 21: RJD MP Manoj Jha has slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for failing to approve the proposal to provide financial assistance of Rs 2,500 to the women of Delhi in the first Cabinet meeting. Jha stated that the government cannot function solely through rhetoric, as the promise was made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to credit the amount in the first Cabinet meeting. However, no decision was taken on this issue.
On the growing concerns regarding the pollution in the Yamuna river, Jha highlighted that cleaning the river cannot be achieved merely by visiting its banks. He emphasized that a comprehensive approach was necessary to address the underlying factors, and the government should take tangible actions to fulfill its promises to the people of Delhi.
Meanwhile, Delhi Minister Ashish Sood, who recently joined the Cabinet, pledged to fulfill the BJP’s promise of ending bad governance in the capital. Sood stated that the BJP now has the responsibility to implement Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and ensure progress in line with the direction set by Delhi’s newly sworn-in Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
Rekha Gupta, who took oath as Chief Minister of Delhi on Thursday, also vowed to implement the Centre’s flagship schemes in the capital. She pointed out that the BJP had promised these initiatives during the election campaign and criticized the AAP government for not executing them. Gupta further announced that the CAG reports, which had not been tabled by the previous government, will be presented during her tenure.
