Guwahati (Assam) [India], March 31: Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Riyan Parag has been fined ₹12 lakh for maintaining a slow over-rate during their IPL 2025 match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Sunday.
IPL’s Official Statement on Parag’s Fine
The Indian Premier League (IPL) Governing Council issued a statement on Monday confirming the penalty, citing a breach of the league’s Code of Conduct under Article 2.22, which pertains to over-rate offences.
🔹 “Riyan Parag, Captain, Rajasthan Royals, has been fined after his team maintained a slow over-rate during Match 11 of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 against Chennai Super Kings at the ACA Stadium, Guwahati on March 30, 2025,” the statement read.
🔹 “As this was his team’s first offence of the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct, Parag was fined INR 12 lakhs,” it added.
With this penalty, Parag becomes the second captain to be fined for a slow over-rate in IPL 2025, following Mumbai Indians’ skipper Hardik Pandya, who was fined for a similar offence against Gujarat Titans.
