Former UK PM Rishi Sunak Visits India’s Parliament House With Family

New Delhi [India]: Former UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, along with his wife Akshata Murty and daughters Krishna and Anoushka, visited Parliament House on Tuesday.

The Sunak family was accompanied by Rajya Sabha member Sudha Murthy. They were welcomed by Lok Sabha Secretary General Utpal Kumar Singh.

During their visit, the family explored the Parliament House Complex, admiring its architectural beauty. They toured key locations, including the galleries, chambers, Constitution Hall, and Samvidhan Sadan.

This visit is part of Sunak’s recent engagements in India. On Monday, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met Sunak in Delhi, where he acknowledged Sunak’s support in strengthening India-UK relations.

In a post on X, Jaishankar wrote, “Nice to meet former UK PM Rishi Sunak in Delhi today. Appreciate his constant support for strengthening India-UK relations.”

Earlier, on Sunday, Sunak and his family visited the Fatehpur Sikri monument in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. He was accompanied by his wife, Akshata Murty; mother-in-law, Sudha Murty; and daughters, Krishna and Anoushka. Sunak warmly greeted the crowd gathered to see them.

On Saturday, the Sunak family also visited the Taj Mahal. During their tour, Sunak and his wife signed the visitor’s book. He wrote, “A truly breathtaking visit. Few places in the world can unite like the Taj Mahal. Our children will never forget seeing this… We are so grateful for the warm hospitality. An unforgettable experience for our whole family. Thank you.”

Akshata Murty also expressed her admiration, writing, “A memory for the ages.”

Earlier this month, Sunak was seen at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on February 2, where he watched the fifth and final T20I match between India and England. He attended the match alongside his father-in-law, Narayana Murthy.
