New Delhi witnessed a moment of elegance on the second day of Hyundai India Couture Week 2025 as Riddhima Kapoor Sahni captivated audiences walking the runway for acclaimed designer Suneet Varma.
Kapoor Sahni exuded grace and confidence as she presented a stunning ensemble from Varma’s collection. The dreamy attire evoked a soft and romantic feel, featuring a pastel base adorned with intricate floral embroidery in shades of pink and green, complemented by exquisite golden threadwork. A long, sheer cape flowed elegantly behind her, adding a touch of magic to her look. Her sleek, straight hair and subtle makeup ensured the exquisite outfit remained the star of the show.
Varma’s “Twilight” Inspired Collection and Kapoor Sahni’s Style Philosophy
Suneet Varma’s collection for the event drew inspiration from the ethereal beauty of twilight and the essence of femininity. It showcased soft, flowing fabrics, detailed hand embroidery, and gentle hues reminiscent of moonlight. Each piece was crafted to narrate its own tale of charm, mystery, and elegance.
Speaking to ANI, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni shared her thoughts on the collection, stating, “So this is not overly dramatic, it just resonates with what I usually wear to weddings and to other functions. It’s something that I would wear because it’s very comfortable, it’s something that I could wear, it is wearable, and I think it’s absolutely stylish.” She further emphasized her personal style philosophy, advocating for comfort and individuality. “I think one should just dress comfortable and have their own style and not copy others, there’s something that might look nice on them, it’s not necessary that it will look nice on you, so just have your own style and just be comfortable and be confident.”
A “Perfect Muse” and a Promising Debut
Ace designer Suneet Varma expressed his admiration for Riddhima, highlighting their connection. “Riddhima comes from one of the most legendary families… I believe there is a certain amount of love that we share with each other,” he said. He lauded her multifaceted abilities, adding, “I also find that she’s a girl who can do so much. She practices yoga every day, takes care of her children, her husband, and her family. She’s now doing a movie. She’s a jewellery designer. She’s able to actually do a lot. So, for me, I think she’s a perfect muse.”
India Couture Week 2025, presented by the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) in partnership with Reliance Brands, commenced with Rahul Mishra’s grand opening and will conclude on July 30 with JJ Valaya’s final showcase.
On the professional front, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni recently completed filming for her debut movie alongside comedian Kapil Sharma. The film also features her mother, Neetu Kapoor, in a significant role, with Sadia Khateeb, Sarath Kumar, and Aditi Mittal also part of the cast. The title and release date of the film are yet to be revealed. When asked about advice from her brother, Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor, she simply stated, “He always advises me on everything, and it was a great experience to work with my mother on screen. It was very special.”
