Panchkula (Haryana) [India]: Day six of the 15th Hockey India Senior Women’s National Championship 2025 witnessed thrilling encounters as Telangana Hockey, Hockey Bengal, and Hockey Jharkhand emerged victorious in their respective matches.
In the first match, Telangana Hockey displayed a commanding performance to defeat the Hockey Association of Bihar 5-2. Komal Gurjar was the star of the match, scoring a remarkable hat-trick with goals in the 12th, 50th, and 55th minutes. Pooja Rathod (13′) and Mundari Sumi (43′) also contributed to Telangana’s win. For Bihar, Ebha Kerketta (21′) and Nutan Topno (36′) managed to score, but their efforts weren’t enough to turn the tide.
In another gripping contest, Hockey Bengal edged out Hockey Madhya Pradesh 2-1. Neelu Dadiya (11′) scored first for Madhya Pradesh, giving them an early lead. However, Bengal’s Captain Anjna Dungdung (58′) struck a late equalizer, and Selestina Horo (59′) followed up immediately with a winning goal just before the final whistle, sealing a dramatic victory.
In the third match of Division ‘A’, Hockey Jharkhand secured a 3-1 win over Hockey Mizoram. Sanjna Horo (21′), Captain Albera Rani Toppo (36′), and Nirali Kujur (48′) each found the net for Jharkhand. Antim (47′) scored the lone goal for Mizoram, providing some resistance but unable to prevent Jharkhand’s victory.
Later in the day, Hockey Maharashtra is set to clash with Manipur Hockey, while Hockey Haryana will face the Hockey Association of Odisha in Division ‘A’ matches.
With such exciting performances, the championship continues to showcase impressive talent and fierce competition among the teams.
