Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 5: The highly anticipated action-drama Ghaati, starring Anushka Shetty and Vikram Prabhu, has been postponed yet again, with makers citing pending post-production work as the reason.
Originally slated for release on April 18, 2025, Ghaati was earlier rescheduled to July 11, but the latest update confirms it will now hit theatres on a yet-to-be-announced later date.
UV Creations, the film’s production house, shared the news in a heartfelt statement on their official X (formerly Twitter) handle, describing Ghaati as “more than just a film” and emphasizing the need to perfect every frame.
“Cinema is a living river… sometimes it rushes forward, sometimes it pauses to gather depth. Ghaati is not just a film; it’s a mountain echo, a wild breeze, a story carved from stone and soil. To honour every frame, every breath, we have chosen to hold its flight a little longer in our embrace. We believe this wait will make the experience richer, more intense, more unforgettable. Thank you for your love and patience,” the statement read.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Krish Jagarlamudi (Vedam, Gautamiputra Satakarni), Ghaati marks his second collaboration with Anushka Shetty after their 2010 hit Vedam. Vikram Prabhu plays a key role in the film.
Produced by Rajeev Reddy and Sai Babu Jagarlamudi under the banner of UV Creations, Ghaati will release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. The film’s technical crew includes cinematographer Manojh Reddy Katasani, composer Nagavelli Vidya Sagar, art director Thota Tharrani, and editors Chanakya Reddy Toorupu and Venkat N Swamy.
Anushka Shetty was last seen in the 2023 romantic comedy Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty opposite Naveen Polishetty.
The new release date for Ghaati is expected to be announced soon.
