New Delhi [India]: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that the ‘Viksit Delhi’ Budget for 2025-26 will be presented in the Delhi Legislative Assembly between March 24 and 26. The budget aims to focus on inclusive development by incorporating suggestions from all sections of society.
Addressing a press conference in the national capital on Monday, CM Gupta emphasized that the budget would prioritize financial assistance for women, health services expansion, public transport, pollution reduction, cleaning the Yamuna, employment generation, and welfare of senior citizens.
“The Viksit Delhi Budget 2025-26 will be presented between March 24 and March 26. The government will strive to take all sections of society along for the development of Delhi, incorporating their suggestions,” the Chief Minister stated.
To facilitate public participation, the Delhi government has launched an email (ViksitDelhiBudget_25@delhi.gov.in) and a WhatsApp number (999962025) for residents to share their suggestions.
“Instructions have been given to officials of all departments to include the suggestions of all stakeholders to increase public participation and incorporate them into the budget,” CM Gupta added.
Consultation with Key Stakeholders
CM Gupta announced a series of consultations with various sections of society:
- March 5: Meetings with women’s organizations to gather inputs.
- Same evening: Interactions with education sector representatives.
- March 6: Discussions with business and industrial organizations.
“In this series, we will meet with all concerned citizens of Delhi to gather their suggestions. Our collective effort will be to ensure that this is a people’s budget,” Gupta affirmed.
CAG Report on Health and AAP’s Alleged Scams
CM Gupta also highlighted that the CAG report on Delhi’s health infrastructure would be discussed in the Assembly session. She accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of multiple scams and promised that these would be exposed during the session.
“Today, in the house, we will discuss the CAG report on health, and all their scams will be exposed. The AAP has already been exposed before the people of Delhi,” said CM Gupta.
Gupta criticized AAP, claiming that the party had “deceived the people of Delhi” by presenting a false image of honesty.
“They came to Delhi wearing the cloak of honesty but crossed every limit of dishonesty,” she remarked.
The session is expected to witness heated debates between the BJP and AAP, especially on issues related to health infrastructure, financial management, and alleged scams. The ‘Viksit Delhi’ Budget aims to reflect the aspirations of Delhi’s citizens and address their concerns comprehensively.
