Reese Witherspoon Shares Heartwarming Parenting Moment And Exciting ‘Legally Blonde’ Prequel News

Washington [US], March 16: Actress and film producer Reese Witherspoon shared a proud parenting moment with her fans on Instagram. In a recent video posted on her Instagram Stories, the Legally Blonde star recounted a sweet story about a night out with her two sons, Deacon Phillippe and Tennessee, that made her feel great about her journey as a mother, as reported by People.

Witherspoon, who shares 21-year-old Deacon with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe and 12-year-old Tennessee with ex-husband Jim Toth, was dining out with a friend when the conversation turned to life lessons. The friend asked her sons what was one thing their mom had taught them that they would “always remember.” Witherspoon revealed that one of her sons—though she did not identify which one—responded with a meaningful piece of advice: “If you’re given the choice to be normal or the choice to be weird, always choose weird.” The lesson encouraged embracing individuality and standing out. The actress shared how deeply this response resonated with her, saying it “filled my heart with the deepest joy” to know that her children understood the importance of being unique, adding that “it can actually end up being their superpower.”

In addition to this sweet parenting moment, Witherspoon also shared exciting news about her role in the Legally Blonde franchise. In February, she announced that actress Lexi Minetree had been cast as the young Elle Woods in the upcoming Legally Blonde prequel series, titled Elle, which will explore Elle’s high school years before she heads to Harvard. Witherspoon, who originated the role of Elle Woods in the 2001 film Legally Blonde and its 2003 sequel, took to Instagram to share the exciting news with her fans. In a heartwarming video, Witherspoon is seen telling Minetree the good news in person, as the young actress gets emotional upon hearing she landed the iconic role.

“We had to make a really hard decision the other day, and we wanted to tell you in person because you’ve just worked really hard,” Witherspoon says in the video. “And we just wanted to tell you that you don’t have to audition anymore because you got the part. You’re Elle Woods.”

Witherspoon, who has been closely involved in the casting process, expressed her admiration for the talented young actresses who auditioned for the role. The Elle prequel is set to premiere on Prime Video, and fans are eagerly awaiting its release.
