India Clinches Second Consecutive U-19 World Cup Title
India successfully defended their Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup title with a dominant nine-wicket win against South Africa on Sunday in Kuala Lumpur.
Indian bowlers laid the foundation by restricting South Africa to just 82 runs. In the chase, despite losing G Kamalin early, Gongadi Trisha (44) and Sanika Chalke (26)** powered India to victory with over eight overs to spare.
Following the historic win, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a ₹5 crore cash reward for the entire squad.
This marks India’s second consecutive U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup title, having also won the inaugural edition in 2023.
