Ravi Shankar Prasad Slams Pakistan’s Military Rule, Highlights India’s Decisive Action Under ‘Operation Sindoor’

London: Senior BJP leader and Member of Parliament Ravi Shankar Prasad, who is heading an all-party Indian delegation in the United Kingdom, delivered a scathing critique of Pakistan’s military-dominated governance and highlighted the success of India’s counter-terrorism Operation Sindoor in a powerful address to the Indian diaspora in London.

“Generals’ Shop, Not a Democracy”

Speaking at an event on Sunday, Prasad declared,

“Pakistan is not a democratic country. Muhammad Ali Jinnah ne banaya Pakistan, wo ban gaya generals ki dukaan.”
He emphasized that Pakistan’s armed forces have hijacked democracy, turning the country into a power base for unelected generals, not accountable to the public.

Referring to General Asim Munir, Pakistan’s current Chief of Army Staff, Prasad said:

“Munir, who was defeated in the field, was promoted to Field Marshal—just like Ayub Khan, Zia-ul-Haq, and Musharraf. The pattern is clear: military rule without popular mandate.”

Operation Sindoor: India’s Decisive Strike

Shedding light on India’s response to the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, where 26 people were killed, Prasad detailed Operation Sindoor—launched on May 7—as a precise and powerful strike against terror camps in Bahawalpur, Muridke, Muzaffarabad, and other locations in Pakistan and PoK.

“Our forces targeted only terrorist infrastructure. Over 100 terrorists were eliminated. Not a single civilian casualty occurred. We informed Pakistan the next morning—raat mein aapki pitai ki hai, lekin khali terrorist camp ko hi pita hai,” he added, drawing applause.

He commended the Indian Air Force for intercepting and neutralizing Pakistani missile responses, calling the mission a “salute-worthy feat.”

Message to the World: Terrorism Is a Global Cancer

Prasad used the opportunity to underscore the global impact of terrorism, citing Osama bin Laden’s capture in Pakistan and India’s military neutralization of terrorists behind the IC-814 hijacking to free Masood Azhar.

“Masood Azhar’s family members—his brothers and sisters—have been killed in our strike. Even Daniel Pearl’s killer was among the eliminated. The world must know: terrorism is a global cancer.”

India’s Consistent Peace Efforts

Ravi Shankar Prasad reiterated that India has never been the aggressor in its conflicts with Pakistan.

“From Nehru to Vajpayee to Modi, all Indian leaders have sought peace. But in return, we got Uri, Pulwama, and now Pahalgam.”

He recalled how PM Modi invited Nawaz Sharif to his 2014 swearing-in and even made a surprise stopover in Pakistan during a return from Afghanistan.

“Despite these gestures, terrorism continued. That’s why India said: enough is enough.”

Indian Delegation’s Purpose in the UK

The Indian delegation, comprising leaders from BJP, Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and others, is in the UK as part of India’s global outreach program to expose Pakistan’s terror infrastructure and consolidate international support against cross-border terrorism.

Other members include:

  • Daggubati Purandeswari (BJP MP)
  • Samik Bhattacharya (BJP MP)
  • Priyanka Chaturvedi (Shiv Sena UBT MP)
  • Ghulam Ali Khatana and Amar Singh (Congress MPs)
  • Former Union Minister MJ Akbar
  • Former Ambassador Pankaj Saran

Conclusion:
Ravi Shankar Prasad’s emphatic speech in London not only reiterated India’s moral high ground but also served as a strong diplomatic signal. Through Operation Sindoor and firm words, India is making it clear: terrorism will not go unanswered.

Stay tuned for further developments on India’s international outreach and counter-terrorism operations.
