As part of India’s extensive global diplomatic initiative following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, an all-party Indian delegation led by BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad reached London on Saturday. The visit is aimed at reinforcing India’s uncompromising stance against terrorism and strengthening international solidarity.
From Europe to the UK: Taking India’s Message Across Borders
Prior to arriving in the UK, the delegation visited France, Italy, and Denmark, where they engaged with senior officials, the Indian diaspora, and other stakeholders.
“We are here in London now, and just like in the previous three countries, we are confident of garnering support here as well for India’s zero-tolerance policy on terrorism,” said Ravi Shankar Prasad on arrival.
Strong Response in Copenhagen
In Copenhagen, the delegation faced protests by a group of Pakistani nationals, which Prasad described as acts of “desperation.”
“Pakistan lives in a state of desperation. The protestors here have been told what to do by handlers back home. They are rattled by the positive global reception to India’s anti-terror message. Ignore them with impunity,” he remarked, addressing the Indian diaspora in the Danish capital.
Unified Political Front Against Terrorism
Reinforcing India’s political unity against terror, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi emphasized that national interest supersedes party lines:
“I am from the same Shiv Sena that once disrupted a cricket match with Pakistan. Today, I’m here as part of a united Indian voice saying — terrorism will not divide us,” she said.
Delegation Composition
The London-bound Indian delegation is composed of:
- Ravi Shankar Prasad (BJP)
- Daggubati Purandeswari (BJP)
- Samik Bhattacharya (BJP)
- Priyanka Chaturvedi (Shiv Sena UBT)
- Ghulam Ali Khatana (Congress)
- Amar Singh (Congress)
- MJ Akbar (Former Union Minister)
- Ambassador Pankaj Saran
This visit is part of India’s seven-team global outreach following Operation Sindoor, the comprehensive military and diplomatic response launched in retaliation to the Pahalgam attack that claimed 26 Indian lives.
India’s Message: Terrorism Is a Global Menace
Through these engagements, India aims to build a united global consensus for zero tolerance toward cross-border terrorism, expose state-sponsored terror infrastructure, and reaffirm India’s resolve to defend its sovereignty and citizens.
The delegation’s next leg in London is expected to include high-level interactions with UK officials, members of Parliament, and the Indian diaspora, further amplifying India’s message of unity, peace, and justice in the global fight against terrorism.
