Ravi Kishan Says ‘Sab Jaan Gaye Ke Kyu Notebandi Hua Tha’

Bhojpuri actor and BJP MP Ravi Kishan has come out in strong support of Aditya Dhar’s latest blockbuster, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, specifically praising its controversial depiction of the 2016 demonetization.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Kishan asserted that “cinema is a reflection of society” and argued that the film finally provides the public with a clear understanding of the strategic necessity behind the move.

The film, which has amassed a staggering 575.72 crore in just six days, reimagines the 2016 currency ban as a tactical masterstroke by the Indian government to dismantle a multi-crore fake currency racket operated by the ISI and Karachi-based underworld syndicates. Kishan’s comments come as a rebuttal to critics and opposition leaders like Akhilesh Yadav, who have labeled the film “propaganda.”

Kishan further challenged those questioning the film’s narrative, pointing to real-life events like the Parliament attacks and the criminal record of late gangster Atiq Ahmed—both of which are referenced in the movie. “Now everyone knows why demonetization happened,” Kishan stated, adding that the film serves as a much-needed “awakening” for the audience. While the movie continues its record-breaking run, aiming for the 1,000 crore mark in India, it remains a focal point of intense debate regarding the intersection of mainstream cinema and political messaging.
