Three workers at a gas station in Bhilwara, Rajasthan, have been arrested after getting into a fight with a Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officer, which involved a physical fight. The incident happened on Tuesday and was caused by a disagreement over which vehicle should get to fill up with compressed natural gas (CNG) first at the station.
Chhotu Lal Sharma is the officer involved. He is currently a Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in Pratapgarh.
Disagreement Over Service Priority Video of It
The CCTV camera from the gas station caught the whole thing. Reports say that the fight started after SDM Sharma didn’t like that a service member was putting CNG in another car before his own. The officer is said to have said that his automobile should have been served first because he got there first.
A second employee at the gas station stepped in during the argument that was getting worse. According to reports, the CCTV footage shows SDM Sharma hitting the employee who was trying to help first, and then the employee slapped the officer back. After the fight, the authorities arrested the workers at the gas station.
The SDM’s wife reportedly said that the pump workers had been rude to her, but an initial analysis of the CCTV tape did not support this accusation.
Police reported on Wednesday that three pump workers—Deepak Mali, Prabhu Lal Kumawat, and Raja Sharma—have been formally arrested in connection with the incident.
There is much more to look into about the situation. Even if the police have done anything about the fight, local officials have not yet made a full public statement about how the RAS officer acted and what the exact charges are against the employees.
This event is public, which is different from what Rajasthan Director General of Police (DGP) Rajeev Kumar Sharma said recently at the state-level Police Commemoration Day ceremony in Jaipur, where he told police officers to serve the country with honesty and dedication.
