06 August 2025: Veena Nagda, a famous mehendi artist who worked on the opulent wedding of Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in 2018, has shared some touching stories about the couple’s big day. Nagda said in an interview that Ranveer’s mehendi design was an homage to his wife as well as her mother and sister.
According to Nagda, Ranveer requested that his mehendi feature the phrase “Deep,” an abbreviated version of Deepika’s name, along with three stars. She said that one star stood for Deepika, the second for her mother Ujjala, and the third for her sister Anisha. Nagda said that Ranveer was a groom full of excitement that spread to everyone around him. She remembered a moving moment when he informed her, “A queen is doing the mehendi for another queen.”
Nagda also told a remarkable story regarding her relationship with Deepika. She said that years before the wedding, when Deepika was still single and shooting on the movie Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, she was so delighted with her work that she pledged to employ her for her own wedding. Deepika’s team really did call Nagda for the wedding, which meant a lot to the artist.
On November 14, 2018, Deepika and Ranveer got married in a magnificent wedding at Lake Como, Italy. In September 2024, the couple had their first child, a daughter named Dua Padukone Singh.
