The massive success of Dhurandhar: The Revenge has officially moved from the box office to the dance floor. Lead stars Ranveer Singh and Sanjay Dutt recently made their first joint public appearance since the film’s blockbuster run, reuniting at a lavish birthday celebration for Mishka Kamboj, daughter of businessman Mohit Kamboj, in Mumbai.
The duo, who play an Indian spy and a Pakistani police officer respectively in the spy thriller, became the life of the party when they took to the stage. Viral videos show Ranveer, dressed in an edgy leather jacket and denim, lip-syncing to the rap of the hit track Aari Aari while a kurta-clad Sanjay Dutt cheered him on with a relaxed, paternal vibe. The impromptu performance has since taken social media by storm, with fans jokingly comparing the duo’s camaraderie to a parent patiently “babysitting” an energetic child.
The celebration comes as the Aditya Dhar directorial continues its historic run in theaters. Centered on a mission to dismantle terror networks in Karachi’s Lyari, the film has resonated deeply with audiences. Its predecessor set a high bar with a $1,300$ crore global haul, but the sequel is already creating “havoc” at the box office, having crossed $1,250$ crore worldwide and over $778$ crore domestically.
Despite the commercial triumph, the film has not been without its share of friction. While the soundtrack by Shashwat Sachdev is topping charts, the movie has faced criticism from figures like Dhruv Rathee, who labeled it “brain rot” propaganda. Additionally, veteran actor Paresh Rawal recently drew backlash for calling a radio jockey “stupid” over her critique of the film. Nevertheless, the infectious energy of Singh and Dutt suggests the team is focused squarely on celebrating their record-breaking success.
