YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia has remained out of contact with investigation agencies despite multiple FIRs filed against him, Mumbai and Guwahati Police confirmed in a joint statement.
FIRs Across Multiple States
Allahbadia has been named in cases filed by the Maharashtra Cyber Department, Guwahati Police, and Jaipur Police in connection with the controversy surrounding the show ‘India’s Got Latent.’ However, he has yet to respond to any of the agencies.
According to the joint police statement:
“Apart from Maharashtra Cyber and Guwahati Police, the Jaipur Police have also filed a case against Ranveer Allahbadia, but he has not yet been in contact with them either. Maharashtra Cyber Department has ordered Ranveer to appear before it on February 24.”
Summons Issued by Maharashtra Cyber Cell & NCW
- The Maharashtra Cyber Cell has officially summoned Allahbadia to appear before it on February 24 for questioning.
- Comedian Samay Raina, who was also involved in the controversial show, has been asked to appear before the Cyber Cell on February 18.
- The National Commission for Women (NCW) has issued summons to Allahbadia, Raina, and others, launching a separate investigation into the remarks made on the show.
Ranveer Cites Death Threats, Seeks Postponement
While many of the summoned individuals failed to appear before the NCW, Allahbadia cited death threats as a reason for postponement. He requested a new hearing date after three weeks, which the Commission has now rescheduled for March 6.
Samay Raina Apologizes, Removes Content
Comedian Samay Raina, the show’s host, issued an apology via his Instagram Story, stating:
“Everything that has been happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all ‘India’s Got Latent’ videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly. Thank you.”
As the controversy deepens, authorities continue their probe, with further developments expected in the coming weeks.
