Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 21: Yash Raj Films (YRF) has officially announced the release date of the highly anticipated crime thriller Mardaani 3. The film is set to hit theatres on Friday, February 27, 2026, strategically timed just ahead of the Holi festival.
Marking the return of Rani Mukerji as the fearless Senior Inspector Shivani Shivaji Roy, the third installment promises to be a gripping, action-packed battle between good and evil. Alongside the release date, YRF also revealed a high-intensity first look of Rani, setting the tone for what’s to come.
“The countdown begins for #Mardaani3! On Holi, good will fight evil as Shivani Shivaji Roy returns to the big screen on February 27, 2026,” read the studio’s announcement.
Mardaani holds a unique place in Indian cinema as the only female-cop-led action franchise. Rani Mukerji had earlier hinted that Mardaani 3 would be an “edge-of-the-seat thriller” described as “dark, deadly, and brutal.”
The film will showcase a bloody, violent showdown between Shivani’s relentless pursuit of justice and powerful criminal forces.
Produced by Aditya Chopra, the franchise continues to evolve, this time with fresh creative talent. The script is penned by Aayush Gupta, known for The Railway Men, while direction is helmed by Abhiraj Minawala, currently serving as Associate Director on War 2.
