NEW DELHI: Punjabi musician Guru Randhawa is in a lot of trouble because of his new song video, Azul. A lot of people are upset because it sexualizes schoolgirls and makes a bad teacher-student relationship seem attractive. Many people on social media have quickly and widely spoken out against the video’s content, including women’s rights activists.
Randhawa plays a photography teacher in the music video. He seems to be fascinated by a schoolgirl, played by Anshika Pandey, who is in a school uniform and dances for him. several people have called the video “sexualized” and “problematic,” and several viewers have pointed out that although if the female cast members are adults, they are shown as young students, which makes sexualizing minors seem normal.

Even though there has been a lot of criticism, Randhawa has not made a public statement. He didn’t do that, though. On Friday, he posted a screenshot of the song’s trending figures on his Instagram Stories and thanked God for its success. The display showed that Azul had more than 107,200 views and more than 27,000 searches on YouTube in the last hour. He wrote, “Azul is Azuling” as the title of the post. You can only move forward when God is with you. The musician has limited the comments area on his Instagram photos because of the outrage.
The singer is also having other legal and social problems right now. His song “Sirra” has also caused a lot of trouble. A court in Ludhiana has told Randhawa to show up on September 2, either in person or through his lawyer, to answer a case against him. Rajdeep Singh Mann, the person who filed the complaint, doesn’t like the line in the song that says, “We are the sons of Jatts.” Our first food was opium when we were born. Mann has said that this line promotes drug use and insults the Jatt community. The court will look at the complaint in a formal way at the next session.
Even with the two scandals, Azul and Sirra have both gotten millions of views on YouTube. Sirra has already gotten over 60 million views.
