Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], January 10: The screening of Vikramaditya Motwane’s highly anticipated prison drama, Black Warrant, took place in Mumbai on Thursday evening, drawing several big names from Bollywood. The series, starring Zahan Kapoor, grandson of the legendary Shashi Kapoor, is set to premiere on Netflix today.
Among the distinguished guests at the event was actor Ranbir Kapoor, who attended to support his cousin Zahan. Ranbir, exuding casual elegance, posed for pictures alongside Zahan and director Vikramaditya Motwane. The actor sported a chic denim-on-denim look, pairing a white T-shirt with a denim jacket and matching jeans, completing the ensemble with crisp white sneakers.
The event also saw the presence of notable personalities like Ananya Panday, Pratik Gandhi, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Ali Fazal, and others.
Black Warrant made waves in December with the release of its teaser. The series showcases Zahan’s character navigating the tough realities of prison life, with his colleagues urging him to toughen up. Rahul Bhatt appears in a prominent role as an authoritative cop. This series marks Zahan’s debut in the web series arena.
Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and Satyanshu Singh, with co-directors Ambiecka Pandit, Arkesh Ajay, and Rohin Raveendran Nair, Black Warrant also features performances from Paramvir Singh Cheema, Anurag Thakur, and Sidhant Gupta in key roles.
The series, inspired by true events, is based on the book Black Warrant: Confessions of a Tihar Jailer by Sunil Gupta, a former Tihar Jail superintendent, and journalist-author Sunetra Choudhury. Black Warrant will officially premiere on Netflix on January 10, 2025.
