Actor and producer Rana Daggubati said that the Telugu audience played a key role in pushing filmmakers to create bigger and more ambitious films, citing blockbuster projects like Baahubali: The Beginning, Kalki 2898 AD, and RRR.
Rana made these remarks during the launch event of **Netflix’s visual effects division Eyeline Studios in Hyderabad on Thursday.

Rana Reflects on the Rise of Big-Scale Indian Cinema
Speaking at the event, Rana Daggubati thanked audiences for encouraging filmmakers to push creative boundaries.
He said that the strong support from viewers inspired filmmakers to aim for large-scale storytelling and high-end visual effects.
According to Rana, many technicians working on blockbuster films such as Baahubali: The Beginning, Kalki 2898 AD, and RRR come from Hyderabad, which has become a major hub for film technology and innovation.
From VFX Artist to Superstar
Before becoming famous as Bhallaladeva in Baahubali: The Beginning, Rana actually worked in the visual effects (VFX) industry in the early 2000s.
He recalled starting his journey in 2006 at the age of 21, witnessing the rapid growth of VFX and CGI in Indian cinema. According to him, advances in AI-driven visual effects pipelines now allow filmmakers to bring even the most imaginative stories to life on screen.
Eyeline Studios Launches First Indian Facility
The new 32,000-square-foot facility of Eyeline Studios in Hyderabad will focus on advanced visual effects and generative virtual production.
The studio is known for creating VFX for global hit shows like Stranger Things and Wednesday.
The facility was inaugurated by Anumula Revanth Reddy, the Chief Minister of Telangana, who highlighted Hyderabad’s growing reputation as a global hub for film innovation and technology.
Hyderabad Emerging as a Film-Tech Hub
At the event, the Telangana government also encouraged Netflix to expand further in the state, including plans for larger studios in the upcoming “Bharat Future City” project near Hyderabad.
With major VFX studios and big-budget films emerging from the region, the city continues to strengthen its position as one of India’s leading centres for cinematic technology and large-scale filmmaking.
