New Delhi, June 21: Bollywood couple Rakul Preet Singh and Jackky Bhagnani marked their presence in the capital on the occasion of the 11th International Yoga Day, voicing their commitment to the Fit India Movement and advocating for yoga as a core part of a healthy lifestyle.
Speaking at the event, Rakul Preet described fitness as a holistic commitment rather than a quick fix.
“Fitness is a way of life for both of us. It’s not a shortcut or just about staying slim. It’s our passion. Wellness, fitness, yoga—it feels amazing to be connected with Fit India,” she said.
Rakul also expressed gratitude for being honoured as a Fit India Couple alongside Jackky Bhagnani.
“It is an honour to receive this recognition. We hope to inspire others to embrace fitness and yoga. You don’t need fancy gyms to begin; it can start right at home,” she added.
Jackky Bhagnani shared his personal transformation story, recalling his weight loss journey.
“I was once 150 kg and lost 75 kg. I wish I had this kind of motivation earlier. Now, under Modi ji’s leadership and with Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya promoting initiatives like ‘Sunday on Cycle’, it’s incredible to be part of this change,” he said.
The couple praised the government’s proactive stance on public health and wellness.
“The vision of PM Modi and Minister Mandaviya is truly inspiring. The youth must prioritize their health. We’re proud to support these impactful initiatives,” Jackky added.
The 2025 edition of International Day of Yoga, themed “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” promotes the interconnection between personal wellness and the planet’s well-being.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi led a massive yoga session in Visakhapatnam, joined by over three lakh participants, with the Indian Navy adding ceremonial flair from the sea.
“Yoga is beyond age, beyond boundaries, beyond background or physical ability. It is a universal gift that unites humanity in health, harmony, and consciousness,” PM Modi said in his address.
The global celebration continues to grow in scale since its inception in 2014, when India’s proposal to establish June 21 as International Yoga Day was endorsed by a record 175 nations at the United Nations General Assembly.
