Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], January 18: Rakhi Sawant has expressed her shock and concern over the attack on actor Saif Ali Khan by an intruder at his Bandra residence in the early hours of Thursday.
In a video that has gone viral, Rakhi, visibly upset, shared her thoughts on the distressing incident and raised questions about the lack of security in “high-profile buildings.”
“Oh my God! This is such devastating news. Saif Ali Khan, with whom I had the pleasure of working in the past on a song in Rakesh Roshan’s film during my early struggling days… I never imagined in my wildest dreams that such a tragic event could happen to Saifu,” Rakhi said.
She further questioned the security measures in place at the building, stating, “What are the people managing the building doing? You charge such high monthly fees, and yet there aren’t even CCTV cameras? This is heartbreaking news. What is happening in 2025? What is going on with such prominent people?”
The incident took place at Saif’s 11th-floor flat in Bandra around 2:30 am on Thursday. According to reports, the intruder confronted Saif’s maid, and when the actor tried to intervene, the situation turned violent. The altercation resulted in Saif being stabbed multiple times.
Saif was rushed to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent surgery to remove a 2.5-inch-long knife lodged in his spine, causing significant injury to his thoracic spinal cord. The surgery also addressed a leak in his spinal fluid.
Doctors have stated that Saif is currently out of danger, but his condition is still being closely monitored.
