Rajya Sabha BAC Meeting Allocates 12 Hours for Constitution Day Discussion

New Delhi [India], December 10: During the Rajya Sabha Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting on Tuesday, it was decided that a total of 12 hours will be allocated for the discussion on Constitution Day in the House. Official sources stated that time would be divided based on the strength of each party, with both the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Opposition each receiving six hours.

Constitution Day, celebrated annually on November 26, commemorates the adoption of India’s Constitution in 1949. This year marks the 75th anniversary of its adoption, and the celebration theme for Constitution Day during Amrit Kaal is “Hamara Samvidhan, Hamara Swabhiman,” inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In Gandhinagar, the occasion was marked under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, with the CM, ministers, MLAs, and senior officials, including Chief Secretary Raj Kumar, collectively reciting the Preamble of the Constitution.

Earlier on Constitution Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended a program at the Supreme Court, where he acknowledged that the Constitution had met the expectations and needs of the country over the years. He expressed immense pride in the 75th year of India’s Constitution and paid tribute to the members of the Constituent Assembly. PM Modi also emphasized that every citizen’s goal is to build a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India).

Additionally, PM Modi reminded the nation of the Mumbai terror attacks anniversary, offering tributes to the victims. He reiterated that India would respond strongly to any terrorist organization threatening the country’s security and integrity.
