August 10, 2025: People are getting really excited about Rajinikanth’s new movie, Coolie, which comes out on August 14. The movie has already made a lot of money, so people are really looking forward to it. Reports say that the movie has already made back more than 66% of its ₹375 crore budget before it even comes out in theaters. This shows how much buzz there was before it came out.
Pinkvilla said that the people who made the movie have already made ₹250 crore by selling the rights to it in other countries, online, on music, and on satellite. The movie’s foreign rights were sold for an amazing ₹68 crore. This strong result means that Coolie is on track to have one of the largest opening days ever for a Tamil film in the international market, possibly breaking the record set by Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo.
The excitement is just as strong in India. Theaters in Karnataka and Kerala are putting up plays as early as 6 a.m. to meet the huge demand. A viral video from Thrissur, Kerala, showed fans pushing and running to get seats for advance purchases. The first show in Tamil Nadu is set at 9 a.m. because of rules set by the state government.
Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is a classic Rajini-style mass entertainer with a star-studded cast that includes Nagarjuna, Sathyaraj, Aamir Khan, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, and Shruti Haasan.
